Where did you find the link to copy PS 2 games
Do you need a mod chip to play copied PS2 games?
I have seen that a good media is the universal, but I think you know that.

I saw them at www.modchip.com it says on the website it's legal to back up games as long as you own them? I think people all should back up their games... original disc cost about $60 dollars man, I don't want to leave a CD as expensive as my Celeron CPU ontop of my PS2 system.. as long as they are backed up copy i can even use them as freesbie, and burn another copy from my original...

Sorry - maybe I did not explain it well
Do you have the link for the doc on actually copying a PS2 game?
Is it the same procedure as copying a DVD?
And can you play a backup PS2 game on a PS2 without a modchip
Thanks

Um... Try cdbackupworld.com i think... they tell you how to but... it's hard to understand... you can buy a plug in chip ... that way you don't have to mod your ps2... after all your ps2 cost $299 you don't want to mess it up

You can't backup movies with Pioneer A103, however you can back up game with patches applied on it... I can't give you more information on where to find patches. but you will find it easily on search engine like Lycos, Google...
To copy movies you need DVD-RW drive for authoring like Pioneer DVR-S101,201 which will cost you $3000 at least

Ultima...thanks for the advice, although, the Pioneer A03 is capable of DVD-RW. I am basically just trying to learn how to rip a DVD movie, then what the steps are to convert it to something I can burn back to a DVD-R??
If you know anything about this, I would appreciate a little help.
Thx!!

if you want to rip a dvd use clad dvd to get it to hard drive use ifoedit to get rid of the crap so it will fit on a dvdr it also corrects the errors caused by ripping to hard drive then use prassi to write to disc. prassi will check the dvds ok first before it writes so if it refuses you aint built it right the other problem is 75% of dvd players wont read dvdr's so mack sure yours does. and its easier to rip region 1 dvds than region 2 as less info on region 1s so less to store on a disc

DVR-103 is DVD for general and it cann't be used for DVD movie back up, DVD movie are protected by copy protection which require bit by bit copy. and ONLY DVD-RW drive for authoring can copy bit by bit.

Hey ISU....got the link, thanks!
The problem I am running into is that following that guide does not address what the problem with IFOedit is when it crashes, when trying to split a movie??
I am using XP, and thought that might be it...then saw another post that mentioned something where IFO might have a problem splitting VOB's that are very large??
Can you confirm?? Movie in question is "Behind Enemy Lines", and oddly enough, it only seems to have one main movie VOB that is huge?? Instead of having lost of smaller ones...only has two chapters as well???
Please let me know if it is the size or OS problem that is causing IFOedit to crash?
Thanks!

mikeyc,
Not the operating system - I run XP
Never seen where there are only two chapters.
I know that there was another thread that mentioned another VOB editor. May need to try another editor
My friend has DVD - will try to rip and burn and give you the results.

digger when using clad dvd do you need to re name the files? As the ones I've been left with won't allow working ifo's to be made with ifo edit
Cheers

Hey, I use smartripper to rip then IFOedit. Works well although I do have problems with movies skipping....I think it's cuz I use cheap media....Princo is real good from what I hear. If you still don't know how to rip e-mail me.
I also tried reencoding to fit big movies on 1 dvd...had problems with sync audio.
