I have a couple of games that are PAL. I burned them without patching and the game loads but it has the screen flickering because it's PAL, but the game actualy loads (you can see pictures and stuff.) I used the pal2ntsc program, reburned it, and loaded using cogswap just like I did before patching. But after the patch, all I get is a black screen. I've tried burning 3 times and all the same thing. What is the deal!?

What media are you using, and at what speed are you burning?

I'm using Fujifilm Made in Japan(ID: YUDEN000) DVD+R 8x. Using DVD Decrypter to burn. I put it at 1x but it burns it at 6x for some reason, I think it can only burn at 6x or 8x. My burner is a Liteon with updated drivers.

are you using Swap Magic?
If so then try changing the screen mode on the main loading screen before you load the game. Change it to PAL and try loading the
original unpatched version.
It may be that your TV doesn't support PAL screen mode.
Do you have any PAL games that do work?

I'm using cogswap and cdloader with a home made fliptop. I have Resident Evil 4 PAL version that's been patched with pal2ntsc and it works on the hard drive and on dvd.

Here's what I do:
Turn on system with PS1 trigger disc and exploited MC.
ps2kmenu (or w/e it is) comes up and I load cogswap from MC or cdloader from cd
then eject cd and put high TOC disc in (NCAA Football 2006)
Open fliptop and put in backup
Game starts to load and the game screen pops up for a second and then everything goes black and the dvd spins.

That's with a patched PAL version; with an unpatched PAL, the game loads and you can see/select menus but you can't play b'c the screen is scrolling. The same thing happens on the harddrive with patched and unpatched.
