Hello,
I have an iPod Nano. I have files downloaded from limewire in a file on my computer. I then put them in iTunes by going to file and add files. Then I have the songs in iTunes and the file they originally went to. When I deleted the files from my computer iTunes would no longer play the song saying it couldn't find the original source. I am not sure what to do. I don't want to lose the songs from my iPod or iTunes but I don't want all these extra files that were originally downloaded. HELP PLEASE??!!! :-)

So what you are saying is, you want the songs on your PC, but you would like to clear out your Limewire folder..?
In which case, go EDIT --> PREFERENCES --> ADVANCED --> GENERAL, then check the box that says "Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library"
Then, you can delete the loose songs from your Limewire folder without the need to worry, because they are backed up on your iTunes music folder.
If this is not the answer you are looking for, please post again, and try and be a little more specific ;-)

Thank you for your help. I have a folder on my desktop that limewire sends the songs to once they are downloaded. This is the folder that I'd like to get rid of once they are in iTunes. However, when I do this the songs will no longer play from iTunes saying the original source for the file is gone.

Also, how do I keep them on my iPod only and not in iTunes without deleting them everytime I update my iPod? I'm not sure which settings to chose or how to do it from there. Thanks

Got it thanks Lethal! You have been a great help.. I have one more questions (as you can see I'm new to this)... In my iTunes Library alot of the songs have a ! next to them and it says the original file cannot be found. These songs are still on my hard drive. It then asks if I want to locate the file. Do you have any suggestions as to what I can do about this? Thanks for putting up with my questions :-)

Well (providing you have followed my previous instructions), Delete them, but 'Keep Files'. So then, when you re-import them, you will be able to delete them from your limewire folder.
Just remember, So long as you don't touch your iTunes music folder, you'll be fine :-)

I have followed your previous instructions. But, what do you mean by "Keep Files"?

When you go to delete a song, you get a message box like this;

ok, this is where I get hung up. In my itunes library in order to delete a song i either push 'delete' on the key board or right click and then 'clear' but that question box that you showed me does not show up. I've never seen that before.

Ok, here's the deal, re-import every song with an exclamation mark next to it. Then, go 'Advanced' & then 'Consolidate Library'. Now you can delete the songs from your Limewire folder :-)
