I hope im posting this in the right channel, if not im sorry. Well when i back up my dvds, sometimes when i watch them on my home dvd player they atend to pause for like a quick seconed. Now before i go and make that back up of my dvd i make sure my +r Dvd has no scratch's and nothing on it. Also i have cleaned my home dvd player before so i dont know wut could be making this problem.. Is it bec of my home dvd player or is it bec when i copy the dvd's that already have kinda some scratch's on them and it makes my NEW back up kinda crappy also?.. im not sure wut to do.. It kinda makes u mad when u take all ur time into backing up that movie and once u watch it it pause's for a seconed through out the WHOLE movie.

Also.. Iam using dvd+r Imation Disk.

@OnlyJosh,
Part of your problem is you are using Imation Media. It sucks big time. The other thing could be you're burning spped is too fast, lastly, if you can, booktype those DVD+R discs to DVD-ROM. Try Better Media! Like Sony, Verbatim, Fuji, Maxell. STAY AWAY from Imation & Memorex!

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

I have to agree, it's probably your media. You also don't want to burn at over 4X until this problems goes away. You could then slowly increase it if you like, but I would stay at 4X or below.

So what ur saying is get Dvd -R's instead, and make sure they arnt imation or Memorex. But im not sure if my dvd player will play -R's though.. i think i tried it and it couldnt read the disk. So how about if i gotton +rs Sony or Verbatim, Fuji, Maxell? anyone of one those just +r's though.. would that make any differents?

No offense here, but Imation and Memorex (CMC MAG) sucks big time. See my buddy creaky's link here http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/232406 or here's another good example (with scanning results) http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262544

Well i just burned American Pie "band camp" nothing went wrong, i used DVD43 running while i used DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink the whole time. But far as the pausing through out the movie im not sure about yet...i'll see once i watch it. But ima go pick me up some SOny +rs This Weekend and back up most of my dvds with that instead of them being imation ones and turning out crapy down the road. Is that the way to go or no?

OnlyJosh - you can check your dvd compatability here:

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdplayers

That should let you know if your player can see +/-. If you want good quality burns, the most common and easy to find "top of the line" media is Verbatim. You can easily find that one pretty much anywhere. Ty Yuden's are also "top of the line" media, but here in the states they're not easily identifyable. You have to figure out which manufactuer is using Ty's, then look and see if they're made in Japan, etc. You do eventually begin to identify them more easily, but Verbatim's are marked Verbatim.
Also, make sure your firmware is up to date and you don't burn at over 4X (at least until you know you are getting good burns).

Let us know how it turns out.
