I bid for a 256MB Kingston 66x SD card on Ebay. What has come is a 256MB 45x Kingston SD card. What's the difference between the twoplease. All I've got from the seller is the comment:

"the 66x is a up to speed."

I'm sure it is but that's not the one I got. It advertises a writing speed of 7.7MB psec.

Can anyone explain in easy terms to me please before I take this further. The seller was also a bit of a con merchant with postage. Tucked down below all the blurb was the comment of insurance [required] 5.95 gdp which brought the cost far higher than it appeared to be in the bidding and the postage at the top. If I've got the right thing then I'm not too fussed but if I've been done on this produc then I am.

Kingston has 3 lines of SD Cards besides the Mini and the Micro , the low end one is called Secure Digital, then those follows:-

The Elite Pro Secure Digital by Kingston :-

256MB - 45x: 8MB/sec. read rate
6.75MB/sec. write rate

The Ultimate Secure Digital by Kingston :-
We are talking 133x in the 512MB and up cards. No 256Mb in that series.

The read and write rate is the time needed to transfer the photo data to the card , and from the card.

This one was advertised as Kingston Elite Pro - totally white in colour and 66x speed with 7.7MB writing speed. What arrived was Kingston Elite Pro, blue in colour 45x speed which to me equates to 6.75MB writing speed. So where would they get the 66x speed from if Kingston don't do one?

Mmmmmmm.. when you buy at Ebay , before bidding you have the choice of emailing the person that puts the items off for bids -- or you can do your own research ; in this case going to this manufacturer's website and looking at the Products ! Kingston does not make 256MB 66X SD Card -- what you got was a 45X from their Elite Pro Series.

Take it up with the Ebay Complaints Dept.--- you have a good case of misrepresentation by one of the sellers !
