my drive does not read anything it apears in my computer if youput a cd in and click on the drive it just says please insert a disk into drive D:. ihave had this problem since i tried to burn a dvd and it failed it is a new drive and hasnt been used much.
any help would be great.

Go into your Hardware/Device settings and look at your Secondary IDE and see if it is in DMA mode.

current transfer mode is Ultra DMA 2 - Ultra33so that seems fine any other ideas?

Try to do the same thing but this time click on uninstall device, (where the device is your burner,) and restart Windows so that if finds it again and loads the drivers once more.
