URGENT HELP WITH LG DVD-RAM 4167B!!!!!!!!!!

Hi i have a lg dvd-ram 4167b burner and I was burning a file and the file was messed up and it froze so i exited it and tried to remove the disk from the burner and it wouldnt open so i used the thing where you push in the button with a neddle and it opens a little so you have to pull it the rest of the way and then it made weird noises when i closed it so i restarted my pc and Windows XP recognized it as a CD DRIVE so it couldnt burn anything or play any dvd's so I uninstalled the driver then reinstalled it and it still said it was a cd drive so i unconnected it and reconected it and still says its a CD Drive. Please Help!!!

Hi there,

I had an LG-4040B and it also said CD Drive, until I inserted a DVD Blank media in it.

Then the burning software just burned the DVD media without a problem.

Just ignore what Windows Explorer says.

Put in a DVD+RW and burn it, it will (should) work, if everthing is installed properly...
