nappy06,

Get yourself the latest copy of AnyDVD, it will work on 'The Cave'.

I just finished burning a copy to DVDR with it and CloneDVD2. AnyDVD had absolutely no problem removing and emulating the protection the moment I inserted 'The Cave' into my reader.

I had the same problem after attempting to rip Madagascar. I reflashed the drive's firmware and that solved the problem.

Actually, sometimes it takes a restart after ripping movies that give you tons of errors. I don't know why, but it helps with me.

Oh, and the guides I posted for ARccOS work for this movie. You can also try DVDFab with FixVTS if AnyDVD is not an option.

Ok, I just finished ripping a DVD without any type of unreadable sector corruption, but this disc was not in the best shape. I got some read errors in one of the VOB files. After the read errors, I got another wierd thing, DVDD could not crack the CSS on my DVD-ROM drive. I then switched to my Burner and it cracked it.

After switching, I noticed that the rip speed picked up and kept on increasing until it hit another unreadable sector. I then retried and the speed went to 2x. It kept that speed on the next VOB file. I then thought, why waste my burner ripping a bad disc, and tried it again on my DVD-ROM drive. Wel I switched again, the final 2 VOB files ripped at 4.5x, which is fast considering the drive is 6 years old and the disc is scratched!!!

My conclusion based on this is that read errors may fill a buffer of some type and this will cause your reader to read slower. I noticed an option in Decrypter "recycle drive after bad sector". Perhaps this will help speed it up on corrupted discs. I think that the way to speed up the drive is to cancel after a VOB file finishes. Then eject the DVD and reinsert it. Then begin ripping where you left off. I am not sure if this will work and it is only a theory, but it may be worth trying. I will not test it further, but the info may help someone.

first off the cave is one of the worst movies of 2005 and its simply not worth the hassle to burn.thats just my opinion.i burned with shrink,then Nero,with DVD43 running in backround.

@dvdfreak1,

I have yet to see this movie, but this is the second time I heard it was not good. It makes sense though. Almost everything that is released through Sony is garbage. Movies in general are going down, but Sony's studios so far are the worst out of the big names.
