TYs are the best. If u can't get them go for Verbatims, Sony/Maxell/Fuji (Made in Japan)or Ritek/Ridata.

I'm surprised you haven't gotten any porblems w/ imation. I hear they are horrible, one of the worst actually. I can't say personally since I've used TY/Verbs my whole life.

And to the original question, TYs or Verbs. SOny/Fuji/Maxell are only good if they are made in Japan. That is because Sony and Fuji made in Japan are actually TYs. And Maxell made in Japan is Hitachi.

Are you sure they are authentic Pioneer blank media?

Where did you get them from?

I rarely see them around here. They've been extinct for quite a while, but they were the best dvd media ever made. Their dvd-r's usually run over $4-$5 a piece,if you can find them! OUCH!

Maybe some lower quality manufacturer using their brand name?

For dash backups, Definitely taiyo yuden or verbatim.
Also japanese sony and fuji will work quite well. The Japanese maxells are also sweet, made by Hitachi of Japan.

Look those outer shrink wrapper over good for the japanese spindles. There will be taiwese spindles mixed in with them, and for the same price.
