Yes CMC Mag is awful. That's why I tell people to avoid TDK's. There a lot of cheap one's/fakes. The high end ones don't compare to Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim. You can get them at the sites listed or locally. Sony DVD+R's are Taiyo Yuden's, as long as it says "Made in Japan" on the package. You can find Maxell's at CompUSA or Office Depot that're "Made in Japan" as well. Those are excellent quality. Sam's Club has 50 packs of Verbatim's for $15. Any of those should work fine.

http://www.supermediastore.com I think they ship to Canada, but I'm not positive. They do not deal in fakes and their prices are very good. I've ordered a 100 pack of TY's of there twice for $42 including shipping. If that sounds expensive, go to Wal-Mart and you'll see 100 packs of Imations (God awful media) for $46. These are what I use: http://www.supermediastore.com/taiyo-yuden-silver-thermal-8x-dvd-...

thanks alot, for that link, but i had already checked there and when you go to the checkout screen it doesn't give you the option of shipping to Canada

I did a little more searchin and found a site that looks good: http://www.blankmedia.ca/index.asp

Prices i guess are decent, but i just want to know if the TY's are fake.

Thanks a lot for the advice

Well your taking a chance on getting some fakes. Make sure they're reputable. You can check http://www.bbb.com or http://www.resellerratings.com for info on online shops.
