xvid/divix dvd menu creation

what S/W would be usable to create a menu for a DVD that was burned as a data dvd(using Nero) w/ multiple xvid/divx movies.

most of the dvd authoring appz I have ran across want to convert the xvid/divx to
a dvd compliant format.

I watch the divx/xvid disk on a phillips dvp642 player on my home theater system

the movies will play one after the other and I can skip to the beginning of each movie, but I have no menu to select with at the start.

Well DVD video requires DVD compliant formats. No way around it.
Now the DivX media format does support menus, but then your player won't handle them anyway. Afraid you are stuck with the default file browser of your player. Either than or update to a Ultra certified player.
