Hello. Long time lurker first post. I recieve via ftp dvd .img files from my business partner overseas which are region 2 (not copy protected just region 2). I normally open dvd shrink import the image file have it remove the region protection and then burn the dvd region free or #1. I was looking for a way to remove the region protection or change to region 1 without waiting 20 minutes for dvdshrink to re-encode the dvd. Anyone have a quick solution?

Also My 4 dvd players can NOT be changed to region free with a simple remote / software hack it. They are SAMSUNG dvd-v4600, Samsung dvd-hd931, sony ps2, and miscrosoft xbox. If anyone has a answer on how to make any of my dvd players region free easily without hardware mods then I can just burn region 2 dics...

Plenty of region free software if you don't want to patch your firmware.

a) I want to play these burnt dvd's in my standalone dvd player which is region 1 not on my pc
b) i have AnyDVD but thats only for ripping with DVD Shrink etc
c) If you bothered to read the thread your post is a waste

I want to be able to change the region of a .img file without having to reencode the entire file which shrink takes like 10-30 minutes to do.

The simpliest solution would be to buy an el cheapo region free Chinese DVD player - they can be brought for less than $40 and will play anything. They also have a button on the remote to change between PAL and NTSC.

Not sure of their availability in USA but they are freely available in Asia/Australia.

Thought you comment to unolord was somewhat ungracious - he/she was only trying to assist. Misinterpretations do occur but most people on these forums are here on their own free time and do try to assist.

Putdowns such as yours does not encourage assistance or willingness to help.
