hi, when ever i try to talk to some one on msn it comes up with Hey, I get my MSN Names from http://www.IM-Names.com. its so annoying!!!! is there any way to fix it?

yes thats adware, i had that what i had to do was disable IMnames from the proceses in the task manager and then i went into my computer.c:/>program files and deleted the progarm folder.

hi thanks for the reply and help. im having some difficilties. wheres the task manager and i went into program files but there was nothing with the imnames folder. could you please hjelp cuz it flipping anooyn!!!!!!!!!

press ctrl+alt+del to bring up the task manager and clikc the proceses tab and shut down the rpocess for Imnames

i cant find rpocess but theres a IM-svr.exe.

end process for that Im-svr.exe

and go my computer>c:/>program files anf find somthing that you think should be it, it should be IM names or somthing like that.

i ended it but theres nothing that different or looks like im names in the program files. (c:). is there type of software like adware remover to get rid of it? i got norton 2005, microsoft antispyware, Spybot,aol spyware.

when i delt with this no adware remover found it.

send in a HJT log so we can just delete the registry entries.

thats the best way seeing as you cant see the IM names in the program files.

HJT is a program that alows us to see whats going on, once you download and install run a system scan and save logfile.

i found the im names on my programs folder and deleted it every thing in it and the folder. so should that be the end of my problem? do you no where the temporery internet file is?

scan for issues and itll get rid of all of the remains.

and you can post your HJT if you want but seeing as youve deleted Imnames (good you found it lol)you should be all good.

if you get that anoying message pop up aggain then post back after the ccleaner scan.

aslo run a hard drive search for Im names too.

HJT is in the temp, well i would save the instaler when im doing it.

but if what you want is acess to the temp files then start>run>temp.

i had the same problem, and i followed everything you said, and got rid of the file first time :)
