Hi All.

Great site!! I have a Dell with 3.2 g, over 1 gig ram and a Philips DVD +-RW DVD8631. Used to us DVDXCOPY but no more updates. Used to burn a dvd in as little as 30 min start to finish. Now I have CloneDVD2 and Anydvd and love it. Problem is that it takes a long time to finish a movie. Just got done with Stealth and it took me exactly 1:56 at 4x speed. Seems to take the same amount of time no matter what speed i do (2x-6x) The ide channels are on DMA. Any suggestions???

Is that after you have it encoded, or does that include coding? If it includes coding, then that speed should be about right from start to finish.

That is from start (putting the movie in the dvd rw) to finish product. Just seemed like my download times used to be much faster

That time seems somewhat excessive for your system specs. I have an older PC set up just for dvd burning with a 1.3 gig cpu and 512 mb ram. Using CloneDVD 2 and AnyDVD Stealth took me less than 1 hr start to finish. Do you multitask while burning the dvd. Check for programs running in the background, spyware, adware. There may be something using your resources.

Burning at 4X should take less that 15 minutes.

Encoding times can vary depending on movie but in almost all cases less than 40 minutes - often 20 minutes or less.

I'm using PIII 800 with 256 RAM and these are the times I experience.

Maybe worthwhile uninstalling and let Windows reinstall your DVD drives.

verify that your hard drive is set to DMA also that new of a computer should also have UDMA try putting your burner in the master slot and make shure you close all other programs including AV & antispy you dont need them to burn
