Erasing a RW disk is a simple matter of Formatting the disk again ! Right click the drive and select Format

You dont need to erase or format the disk. When the disk contains data and you want to copy over the disk with new data the computer will prompt you if you want to first erase and overwrite. Thats why you dont see any special option to erase rw disks its automatic.

Your saying when you put your disk in and use programs like Nero copy you cannot copy data (mp3's or movies) to your rw drive? Are you sure your using the correct + or - disk? Is the disk dirty or scratched? You shouldnt need to format or erase the disk as its automatic.

Are you trying to copy new data to the disk? Because as far as I know you cannot just erase or reformat an RW disk UNLESS your copy new data to it. I have never been able or really even tried to wipe a used rw disk clean why would you ever want to? Its like a vhs tape you dont erase then you just overwrite them with new stuff.

when you burn to your rw disk are you using the "finish the burn" option thus closing all burning sessions for that disk and not leaving it open for more burning like a large floppy disk. Once the disk is finalized the next time you write to it it will ask you if you want to erase the existing data. You say yes and it erases it and rewrites it with new stuff. The default in windows and Nero is NOT to finalize but make it a multisession disk (like a large floppy disk) the option you might want is to make it a closed session disk or finalize.
