Hdloader Formatting...Noise?

Hey guys,
Thanks in advance for the help. I just bought a maxtor 200 GB to use with the HDloader, and when I first tried to format it, the HD itself would beep, it sounded like a cd was spinning up and down (though I think this was the HD itself), and it said it failed. I tried again, reconnecting the HD, and though it still made the same noise (it sounded a beep, then something spinning up and a "click", and then it repeated), the format went through. I've loaded many games on there, it works fine, and i've had no problems since (the hd runs quietly and nicely). Should I return this thing, or is it good to go? I'm just nervous about any damage I did during formatting. Thanks guys so much.

yeah problem is i dont think you could return it as far as i know it can be formatted back to a pc format but on the other hand if they cant tell what the fileing system is then you could argue the point thats it falty but as for being something wrong with it i dont know are you using the hd loader that only surport up 128 gig if so that could be your problem when you formatted

Well I got it from staples, which has a no questions asked guarantee. It just made those odd noises during formatting, but has worked perfectly since. I just was wondering if those noises automatically mean that something is wrong with the HD, or if those noises can happen during formatting normally?

not normally mine didnt when i had a mates 200 in and my baby 80 didnt not that i can remember anyway i dont no if you are happy just take it back whats the worst can happen you get a new one and it make the same noise
