I don't know how big (how many GB) is MGS2: Substance 2 (PAL?), but I did 2 tests (rebuild) MGS2: SONS OF LIBERTY (US version NTSC) using both my "50CENT method" and "Gnie's ExPERT" and so far they both worked flawlessly. However, I have not finished the whole game (my backup that I used the "50CENT method") yet, but so far it looks OK.

I've heard that if it's the PAL version, then you may need some sort of special "ripkit" to make it 2 discs or something similar. I've heard Hursty mentioned that some times ago.

You can try both methods "50 CENT & Gnie's ExPERT" and play your backup all the way until the end and see what's your results. Like I said, I made 2 backups copies, one with 50 CENT method and the other is Gnie's ExPERT and both played fine.
