Good evening
First of all, i'm new in the forum, so I guess I should say hey.

"HEY".

Now. Let me explain my problem.
My friend gave me an original ps2 game (for a limited period of time, unfortunatly..), so I decided ill backup the game, so ill have the it too... (smart, huh?)

I tried using dvd decrypter; I created an ISO file from the original game, and it all seemed ok.

Then I tried burning the ISO file.
First of all, I tried burning it with nero (making a data dvd)
but no success... I entered the disc into me ps2, and all I could see is the browser menu -where you see what you have attached to your machine. In my case, I saw a memory card, and a disc.
which is quiet surprising, because that tell the ps2 read the disc, but it can't enter it (I try to press enter and it goes straight back to the browser menu again..)

Ok, I didn't give up.. I tried burning with DVD decrypter.... this time, my PS2 couldn't even read the disc (it says theres a disc read error...).I think I burnt it in the right way...

Ok just for your knowlage, I burnt the discs in a speed of 4x (my dvd discs support this speed, so there shouldn't be a problem, and I know that Ps2 discs should be burn in a low speed).

WHAT ON EARTH SHOULD I DO?

Thank you, mates.

what sort of modification are u using on ur ps2 to play ur back up?

secondly, use DVD Decrypter to burn the iso

-go to mode
-select iso-write
- select the mds file.

and it shud work as long as u got swap magic or mod chip

What do you mean by what sort of modification ? NTSC or PAL? if so, I use PAL...
or maybe you meant the modchip? well I don't know it's name but my mod-chip should be pretty good...

Didnt you read my thread? I tried burning with DVD Decrypter....BUt the ps2 couldnt read the disc (read disc error)

WHAT TO DO?

He means do you have some type of modfication that'll allow you to boot PS2 backups/imports. Sounds like crap media. What's the Media ID of the discs you're using? Btw, if you use Nero to burn your backups, don't select Data DVD, select the DVD-ROM (ISO) option.

91. Q. What is the Media ID of a DVD and how can I find it?
A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier which is very useful. You can find it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_id...
Last but not least you can use DVD Info Pro: http://www.dvdinfopro.com/
Compare the Media ID to this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

Yes, somthing you are doing, or the media you are using is not right.
Also the PS2 does need modification, but you say you have a good modchip so if you actually do then it should play back ups.

I have used DVD Decrypter countless times so i know it works just fine.
What game are you trying to make a back up of.
Oh, and since piracy is illegal you may just want to leave out the
"copying a friends game" thing next time and just say YOU are having problems backing up a game.

Ok I can see this option now... (DVD ROM UDF\ISO)

Like I sad, my file is an ISO file, but ite tells me I can't burn it because it's larger then 2gb..it told me to choose the DVD-ROM UDF burning.

I tried doing it with the DVD-ROM UDF option, and it seemed ok.
Should I start burning? (I wanna make sure im doin the right thing cause i dont wanna waste a disc..)

If you have an ISO and Nero then what you do is use Startsmart,
make sure you are on the DVD tab at the top right.
Then go over to the option, mine is the one just to the right of the one that looks like a filmstrip that you use to do movies, but the next one over that looks like a computer with 2 DVD's will have an option within it that looks like a disc with a match on fire. This is the image burning part of Nero. it will say something like burn image to disc.
Use that and burn the ISO to a DVD
you can always got to the Nero website as they have plenty of tutorials in the tech support part of the website.

I take that back. I was pissed that you criticized those who tried to help you. It's not a good practice. Cheers!
