Hi guys, been looking for the answer for days.....

I've been downloading torrents and they are pretty damn slow! approx 4 kbps if i'm luck - every now and then they might jump to 10-12 kbps but never for long. Once I did see 70kbps for a few mins but that was just the once.

I'm using bit tornado and bit comet(trying both to see if either is faster - but normally only use one torrent at a time) I have a 1.1 mbps connection.

I dont think its the modem cos if i download something using windows - ie an update for div x, then It was downloading at 95kbps. and things from other websites i see averaging 140 kbps.

The only things that seem slow are the torrents. I even tried one of my friends emailing me the torrent url he was using and he was getting 75 kbps and when i tried the same one i only got 3kbps!!! we use the same isp with the same connections speed.


any suggestions before my pc finds istelf in the bin lorry tomorrow!!!!

Yeah I've got a suggestion have a look at portforward.com and also DVDback23's guide, there's a link to it in my siginature.

would do port forwarding but i dont have a router - just a bog standard modem!
