After we burn a DVD and if we look at the Recording surface should the circle or the color should be the same from the inner edge to the outer edge or it can be different and can see the opposite or if someone can post the image of a recorded surface it would be helpful.

Thin deep purple in the center, than a lighter shade of purple all the way out but not quite to the edge. You should than see a dark shade of purple again at the outer edge. If you're not seeing this at the outer edge, you are burning too close to the edge.

Thanks beltline.

I do see what you have described but when I look at the recorded surface the color intensity is not uniform from centre to the outer edge with varying intensity of light and then after some gap it will look a bit darker. The DVD plays fine though and just wanted to know if its a normal thing. Checked for CRC errors and no errors. I use TY discs for backup.

I'm surpirsed it plays fine. I have had this happen, but normally after running a test for errors, it errors out real bad. I don't think this is the norm, but I may be wrong. Mine have a consistant shade.

Yes. I can clearly see the rings on the recorded side and I'm not sure if its normal? I record at 4X on 8X TY DVD-R. But checked for CRC errors and no errors and the discs play fine on Player. But I wanted to check if this how the surface will look like or it will have a solid single color from the centre to the outer edge.

Can some experienced TY users can provide some insights?

Forgot to add. No skipping or freezing. I burned some 3 discs and all 3 discs are similar. One more thing to add is once the burn process starts and hits the 10% mark I can hear the disc rotating sound in the DVD Burner for sometime and I will go quiet again. Is this the standard thing that other members see?

I don't have either of those issues. I would think it's not the norm, but will let someone else chime in.
