Not so great DVD burner?

i bought 50pk of verbatim AZO dvd-r's, but i have a mediocre dvd burner. i've used it for a year now, and it has performed really well. it's a Digital Max DVDRW-DL, and it rips DVD's @ 8x, just like when i 1st got it. i got it for $40 on black friday last year.

i burned a lot of dvd movies recently, and i didn't have any coasters or messed up playback.

would this effect burning ps2 games?

your games should work just fine as long as your burner is ok.

i would slow down the burning speed though.
If you use 8X discs i would do them at 4X with games and 1X with movies. This is just to get the best quality.Also games and PS2's are much more picky about media. So use real good quality media. Just because it works for doing movies does not mean that it will work for games too.
Also keep the firmware up to date on the burner. This will give you better results and more media compatibility.
