I have a PSTwo (silver) V14 with a Matrix Infinity Green Dot modchip installed. The Matrix Infinity has the latest firmware V1.75 (it supports Double Layer DVD).
I'm going to burn my GT4 backup on a Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4X and I would like to know if this method would work:
1) Make an image of the original GT4 with DVD Decrypter
2) Patch the ISO with Toxic Dual Layer Image Patcher v1.0
3) Burn the image on my DVD+R DL with Nero (2.4X speed)

I need help cause Double Layers are not cheap enough to waste them and I'd like to have my backup working without using too many DVD DL.
Thanks for all.

PD: I've read something about changing DVD book type to DVD-ROM. Is this important?? Is it set by default when using Nero??

i think u can just rip to an image then burn the image, im not to sure with the pathing part, seeing as u have a mod chip. i would suggest using dvd decryptor to burn then use nero to booktype it to dvd-rom and burn the image

if you had read the stickies you wudn't be asking this question, straight from tokijin's FAQ:

53. Q. What is Booktyping?
A. Booktyping is the ability to burn a DVD+R so it that appears as a pressed DVD-ROM in any DVD-ROM drive it's inserted in. If you booktype DVD+R's, this allows for greater compatibility with most stand alone DVD players, including your PS2. Your burner has to support booktyping (most newer ones do).

@bleiss- as long its less than 4.3 gig a straight burn shud be fine. but some games have issues although less than 4.3 gig and still need rebuild. nfs:mw is the best example of a troublesome game.

Most of the torrents for GTA 4 are DVD-5. That means they've already been rebuilt. To get get full DVD-9 versions of that and God of War, I had to "acquire" some originals. I have Matrix Infinity v.1.68 and have backed up GTA4 successfully on DVD+R DL Verbatim media. Just rip and burn it with DVD Decrypter like normal. Burn at 2x. Booktyping it to DVD-ROM is highly recommended, if your DVD Burner supports it.

Tokijin, did you aply the Toxic Dual Layer Patcher to your GT 4 Iso before burning it to the DVD Double Layer??
My DVD burner is a LG so I think it supports booktyping...

Nope. The MI automatically patches Dual Layer backups with Toxic DL patcher. You don't need to do a thing except burn it to quality DL media, the MI will do the rest.

So, I can burn directly my GT4 to the Double Layer (without aplying the Toxic Patch) using DVD Decrypter and booktyping it as a DVD-Rom, and then it would be automatically boot by the MATRIX INFINITY without any problems when reading the disc???
I've read that the only chip that could boot it without aplying the patch is the DMS4...
Anyway thanks for your support Tokijin.

Nope the Matrix Infinity and Crystal Chip 1.1 also automatically patch DL backups. I've burned MGS2, Xenosaga, GT4, and GOW to Verbatim DVD+R DL (booktyped to DVD-ROM) and they play perfectly. My MI handles them just like originals.
