I just got into the torrent downloading scene. I have used torrent reactor a few times with good results with the finish. What is the difference in sites(clients?) that some you have to register and some you don't? Do the registered ones have a better, more broad selection? I'm interested in mainly music. Thanks for any help.

You might want to change the title of this thread to "what's the difference between public and private trackers?", since your not asking about bittorrent clients but trackers and sites.

To answer your question, the differences are actually quite big.
Private trackers will have better (enforced)seed/leech ratio's, but sometimes a bit less variety.
That does usually mean the overal quality is better, and if a tracker only has a certain type of file to download (ie trackers that just serve music, nothing else) you are more likely to find some rare material, at high quality.
