Hi I am new here..There was a couple of guys at my University that burns
PS2 games that does not require a mod chip to play it..I did not belive it at first but it works...how is this possible , how can I do it and what do I need.
By the what do you guys mean by rebuilding a game.
i would ask them how they do it.
there are only 2 common ways and both of them require you to]
modify the PS2
Swap Magic discs and a fliptop (not the one that comes on the slim)
and a modchip
Rebuilding a game is taking the ISO image file that most programs make when you copy a game, using a program like ISO Buster to extract the game files within the ISO, then using other programs to manually put it back together and make a new ISO. This is often used if a game has a dummy or garbage file that needs to be removed for it to work right with Swap Magic

This is IMPOSSIBLE period. If any PS2 games can be burned and play without any kind of modifications at all, then Matrix, DMS4, Swap Magic, Fliptop/slide card/slim tool, etc. would never existed.

^^..This guy wont budge to tell not even a bribe would get him to talk..My ps2 doesnt have a mod chip and he lent me NFS HP2 ( burnt version) and it worked Flawless..Dont know how he does it,hes doing a PhD in computer Science so no wonder he gets it to work..another thing have you guys ever heard about HD advance it allows you to copy games onto a ps2 hd and works fine NO modifications needed!!! which means HD Advance has some program that allows games to played from a copied media..you know what I mean.
Thanks for the response
Yes weve all heard of this however I think swap magic(modchip illegal where I live) is much more effective as it doesn't have a 120gb storage limit! :)
It is possible to play a burned game on a completely unmodded PS2. It's extremely rare, but not impossible. There are special programming discs which contain the magic gate code, which allow a burned game to boot on a completely unmodded PS2. I don't know a ton about this, only that it's possible. If this kid is PhD in Comp Science, I'd guess he has connections to some friends in high places at SCEA or some game company.
