I was just wondering where a good site is to buy a mobo and processor cheap because i am soon going to make my own computer. If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

- i forgot to mention that i looked at tigerdirect.com and they have had great deals for mobo's and processor combos, but the one i found that im interested in is the MSI PM8M-V Via Socket 478 MicroATX Motherboard and an Intel Celeron D 340 2.93GHz Processor. Is this smart to buy. the reviews said good about it and everything and i just wanted to make sure it should work just fine. Thanks!

Yes its alright. But 478 is way out of date. You should look more at socket 939 or 775 which is more current till about the middle of this year.

well, do you know of any better website then? And would those different sockets be just as easy to find parts, like the cases and power supplies and such? Thanks!

Yes they would use the same parts like hard drive..psu what not. Best place to check is newegg as tiger direct shipping is horrible. Also if you go to ebay you will find a reputable sellers who you can get a good deal off of. Just check feedback before you bid or buy.

Ok, thank you. One more thing though, whenever i buy the case, how will i know that the mobo will fit in it? Like i see atx and micro-atx and stuff like that, but if the boards say atx then it should work in them? Or whats the easiest way to tell? Thank you!

Usually the case will tell you what size mobo it can handle and then look at the mobo to see if the size is close or the same. I left you a pm btw.

What are you going to be using the computer for, and how much do you have to spend? Because, if you want to stick with Intel processors, you are better off using Pentium4 processors rather than Celerons if you plan on gaming or other demanding work. If all you are using it for is email, word processing, and things like that, the Celeron processors should be fine.
However, if you are planning on building a gaming computer, you should really go with an AMD system, not Intel. Intel systems can be made to run pretty darn well, but you can build an equivalent or faster AMD system cheaper, usually, unless you find a really good deal.

Newegg.com is a good site to buy from, as is zipzoomfly.com
Tigerdirect has some good bundle packages, but the low quoted price usually requires submission of several rebates.
