Is there a way to get gameshark cheats using their cd to work for burned PS2 games?

It doesn't work when i use gameshark 3. When it asks to insert ps2 game and i put the burned copy in there an error pops up saying that it is an incorrect disc.

Hmm.. no idea then. Insert a disc like Swap Magic or something? A boot disc?
