i got a webcam from china but it didnt come with software or any thing just the webcam and thats it!! it doesnt have a make or model. ive serched for the webcam on google and it on sale on ebay and other places. i found out (from the ones on ebay) that it has a Twain driver and vfw interface. i tried googling the twain drivers on google but couldn find any thing that matches the webcam. any one got any help???

sorry mate but wihtout a make and model number its nearly impossible to find out what driver you need.
by the way i dont know exactly what "twain" means but i do know that its not something specific to web cams as my epson printer has a twain driver so that bit of info is actually useless

download everest check under windows devices USB it may give you a model and brand for your cam if so post back and I'll see what I can find

whats everest check and where can i get it? ive got driver genuis professional and when i do a maual update it has got the device id.

try the link i added. if i d/l everst will if find the drivers for man webcam on driver geuines the webcam comes under unknown.

yer but on the link it says that its a twain driver. i think that might be it but i cant find any twain drivers

a twain driver is a driver that allows your computer to interpret images from a cam they are different for each device

yeah i no thats why im having trouble finding them. but isnt there any way i could find what kind of dvice it is? so i can get the twain drivers for it

the device name is usb camera
the device vendor is sonix
and thats abou it if you could plz help me!!!!!

I managed to get some cam drivers that work for me i dont know if your cam is the same but you could try em www.ousia.hk/webcam.zip
