I need help burning God Of War onto a DVD-9 correctly. I tried burning it and it freezes around where you get to the Tower where Pandora's Box is hidden. I've seen a couple of posts of how to burn it but i wasnt sure if it was to get it to fit on a DVD-5. Please Help!!!!

Sounds like someone is just wanting more post counts.

Anyways, here's something that's relevant. You need to patch your GOW .iso with Toxic's Dual Layer Patcher.

You can get it here: http://rapidshare.de/files/1516521/ToxicDualLayerPatcher-v1_1_.0....
It's got a README file too, so be sure to check that out.

And if you need any more programs for whatever, paddymail has compiled a lot of programs in one .rar file. Of course, he wrote a list of what apps are in it: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/292163

Well first of all the same thing happens to me. I rented the game from blockbust and right after i break all three of the sirens necks(ha ha brutal but fun), the ps2 starts making mad clicking noises. The reason, some of the older ps2 like mine have trouble reading dual layers discs, even if they are original. I have a 30001 version so its fairly old. The solution rebuild it so it fits on to a single DVD5 disc and pop it in. This solution worked for me, might not work for others but it did work for me and my friend too so try to this method. Hope this helps.

Older PS2's don't necessarily have trouble with Dual Layer games. They have problems playing DVD+R's. I have a v.4 PS2 (same as you) and it loads all my Dual Layer backups fine. You need to shrink GOW to DVD-5 with Swap Magic. If it still freezes after that it's probably a media issue. What kind of discs are you using? What's the Media ID?

91. Q. What is the Media ID of a DVD and how can I find it?
A.The Media ID of a DVD is the true measure of it's quality. It contains prerecorded info about the disc's manufacturer. The quality of the disc will vary depending on the media code. The media code isn't visible on the disc or the packaging. To check the media ID, Open DVD Decrypter, insert your disc, and check what it says under Media ID or Manufacturer ID. You can also use a program called DVD Identifier which is very useful. You can find it here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_tools/dvd_id...
Last but not least you can use DVD Info Pro: http://www.dvdinfopro.com/
Compare the Media ID to this link: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

some of the above posts (no finger pointing here) are just wild ass guessing at best. nobody asked which chip you had. which do you have? some chips will play DL backups just fine with no patching and some will not play a DL backup regardless of what you patch to it.

keep in mind some chips will not read DL even originals, some will read originals but not backups, the Magic 3.1 is a fine example here, it reads originals perfectly but will fail to boot a backup DL.

if it's hanging up on the layer break it could be a bad burn due to media/firmware/burner conflict, making sure the firmware is up to date would be another fine place to start.

your (Ofnir1) comment "Sounds like someone is just wanting more post counts." was a bit out of place in my opinion, i took GregInnes post as a question of related issues (maybe poorly worded as a question) rather then useless information which was the interpretation i get from your comment that you thought his/her post was, was i wrong here?

there are allot of questions/answers where the posters are not familiar with English (i don't even speak English myself) and their interpretation is a bit difficult at best. even after several readings I'm lost as to what they said (or tried to say) but that post seamed to me to be an asking for help type question rather then an attempt to jack up their post count.

Eh whatever, either way this thread is off topic. The information he requested has been posted. It's up to GregInnes from there.

I wasn't hammering his english or anything like that, he knows what I mean. For example, I think it was the best media thread he was in where his post was last and he posted back like 2 or 3 more times, so he knows what I mean. And the info was for bkzfinest.
