Hi
Ive got my 1640 in an external enclosure.Current firmware BSLB.Do i need to change the firmware to one as if its a true external writer? If so...which one and how do i do it?

Hi,
First get Quikee's BQFlasher from (plus instructions how to use)

Make sure you copy wnaspi.dll to same folder (if needed get it from Nero site)
http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/WNASPI32.DLL.html
Firmware required from
http://support.benq.com/files/storage/Firmware/DVDRW/External/EW1...
