i'll just come right out and say it -- i have a lot of porn files on my computer and i need to move them to make space.
whenever i try to burn a disc of pictures (jpegs, a few gifs and bmps -- total of around 350MB), the computer restarts after the cacheing is done and it trys to burn. there is no error message, it just shuts down and restarts without warning.
wtf???

oh... additional important info
-- i'm using Windows 98 (yeah yeah i know)
-- it's Nero BurningRom
-- i can burn audio mp3 cds just fine. for some reason only audio mp3 cds are working, wav and wma files on audio discs create the same problem.
--- mp3 data discs don't seem to cause any problems either.
-- i was somehow able to burn a disc of video files, mostly mpegs, a few months ago.
-- the cds are Memorex. i just looked at another thread... so Memorex is crap??? F#&@!! i have about 200 blank Memorex CDRs. this is gonna suck.

I bet your power supply can't handle the burn. What's the wattage on it?
