how long is thi supposed to take? Mine was going for over ! 1/2 and it still hadn't finished it jsut kept blinking, in the end i reset it

sorry I must have been tired at the time, when I tried to do the full sdram test on my ipod video it hadn't completed even after 90 minutes despite the fact several websites had said it would only take "several minutes" which I assumed was about 20mins. How long is it supposed to take?

Is the reason you are running it because you suspect you have a problem with the internal memory chip? Or is it just a general check-up. Reset your iPod and then try it, and if that doesn't work, restore it and test it again. You should get a message "SDRAM OK" if your SdRam is ok. :-)

And no, it shouldn't take as long as you state. Mine finishes within a couple of minutes.

thanks I've reset it but I had the same result. I was checking the sdram as I'd been having errors, I'll restore it and see if I have the same problem, if I do do you think I should send it to apple? I already have had an empty box delivered to me

If you cannot sucessfully complete an SDRAM test, then you most likely have a problem with the internal mem. chip. So, yes, if you cannot complete the test after a restore, then you should send it for repair/replacement/refund.
