Why does WinAVI sometimes create multiple folders and sometimes just one?

I've been so happy since I discovered WinAVI.
There is something I don't understand though.
I put 4 episodes in WinAVI and then it comes out in one folder named dvd_0.
Then I do my next 4 episodes and they come out like dvd_0 and dvd_1.
