Just a newbie here trying to figure out how to get this done.
I have tried searching through many threads to find out my answer but I just get more confused as I keep looking.

I am just trying to figure out what software/hardwares (for PC and ps2) I need to copy/burn and play copied ps2 games.
(I'll worry about figuring out how to actually do it after I see what I need to get going)

I currently have a ps2, dvd burner, cd burner blank dvds/cd's, dvd shrink, dvd fab and Nero for burning. My cd and dvd burners are in different computers tho.

So far from my searches I think I need dvd decrypter(something close to this name I think?) and some chip? Im guessing this chip is for the actual ps2 console?

Well any clear cut help of just the software/hardware I need would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I personally use the software DVD Decrypter that is free if you look in the right place. You use this to take the ps2 game off the original disk and on your computer as an iso, then you can use the same program to take the iso and burn on a GOOD MEDIA BLANK DVD DISK
Some like using DVD-R for good results. Now you have a backup of whatever game you have. Now how do i play this backup game on my ps2 you ask? TWO METHODS: Install a mod chip or have someone install mod chip....this tells the ps2 the backup game is an original. Or the easy newbie way is to to order the FLIP TOP MOD WITH SWAP MAGIC DISK
Here you simple replace the top of your ps2 with this nifty new top and incert the SWAP MAGIC DISK AND POWER ON when your tv says INSERT DISK then remove swap magic disk without turning the power off and incert the backup game and press any button on your controler to continue. If your game does not work enter the name of the game in the search engine @ afterdawn.com and i suspect youll get 19 threads of the same question being ask about the one game that wont work and you will find that the answer IS: REBUILD IT OR BUY A GOOD BLANK DISK
