Need driver for HP DVD Writer 200i

Hello,
I hope I've post this thread in the right forum but I'm sure that someone will let me know if I've done wrong :-)

My problem is that I've installed the Windows Media Center Edition op system on my computer...Everything runs fine except my HP DVD Writer 200i...Before the MCE upgrade I was able do burn both "+" and "-" DVD:s but now the DVD Writer is only able to read DVD:s...

I've search the net and have read of similar problems and the only thing to do seems to be reinstalling the original drivers for the DVD Writer...Unfortunately I've missplace the disks and the only way seems to get them seems to buy from HP. I don't want to do that, not because of the money...the problem is their deliverytime as they only ship the drivers on disks with regular mail...

Is there anyone "out there" who has what Iäm looking for or know where I can download it?

Hi there,

Latest firmware for your burner is v1.72

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software3/COL2251/dv-18855-1/dvd200_172.exe

If you have v1.72 already, something else must be wrong.

Give us more details, on what software you are using to burn, and provide us a full log.

Hi again...

I've tried to download the latest firmware but when I try to install it I only get the message: "The DVD Writer original driver must be installed before this firmware will work..."

Please check my setting here:

HP seems to force you to install there crap software before you can upgrade firmware. Now that's stupid !
