I think that DVD+Rs are not recommended for usage with the ps2. Try a decent quality DVD-R for backups. I hear that verbatim are highly recommended, I've also had much luck with TDK and Fuji Film discs.

i have 50 Verbatim AZO 16x DVD-r

i had a bunch of dynex before i bought verbatim. i burned Burnout Revenge and Path of Neo on Dynexes, and both work fine
