I attempted to ISO Read with DVD Decrypter and it would only get to 1% before the buffer would go to 0% and stay there. I then tried with Alcohol 120 and told it to ignore disk read errors. It got to 1.5% and then ran out of buffer. I let it go for 33 minutes before stopping it at 1.6%. The log had several dozen disk read errors. I think I figured this one out on my own, I just wanted to make sure.

I think the problem is that I'm using an original game DVD that's in pretty crappy condition. Not that my computer or the software is to fault. Right?

Most likely. Let Alcohol 120% run for awhile. I've let it run 6-8 hours at times, before it finishes. Let it run for awhile and see if it gets passed the problem area.
