what does rebuilding a game do to a game that doesnt need rebuilding is it better in some way

rebuilding a game is usually used when there is a dummy file that needs to be removed for it to work with swap magic.
Or sometimes if the game it over 4.3GB people do it to see if the size will decrease after rebuilding it, which it sometimes will.
Or if it is a DVD9 (dual layer) game some people may rebuild it so that they can take parts out like movies and extras that are not crucial to the game working, so that they can shrink it down to fit on a DVD5

It is a longer process but some people do it on every game, and it surely wouldn't hurt anything to do. I have had games that when i backed them up had a slow load time, and after rebuilding it the game ran normal.

Any PS2 games over 4.3GB, then it is wise to rebuild it, especially for Swap Magic users. If you have a modchip, then you don't necessary need to rebuild. You can just back it up on any DVD+R DL if the ISO is over 4.3GB - 7GB.
