hey mike,,,

like i said that card is better than the 6600LE you have at the mo.

you can check that out yourself by looking at the product page youve posted,
take a look where it says core and memory clock, the higher number of MHz the better performing the card is.

compare it to the one you currently have and youll see what i mean.

Studio Comp: AMD Athlon XP 3200+ OC ~ 2.35GHz runs at 40 celcius idle and 48 under stress (aerocool GT1000 really works!), Asrock K7VT4A , 1024MB Dual Channel DDR 400, MSI Nvidia FX5200 128MB OC ~ 600MHz mem 350MHz core,80GB SATA + 200GB SATA + 120GB IDE, 7.1 Channel Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum EX sound and midi interface. 19" Sony SDM-HS95 TFT monitor - sweeet
Comp2: AMD Sempron 2400+ OC ~ 2.0GHz (Stable), Asrock K7S41GX, 512MB DDR 333, Onboard Graphics, 40GB Maxtor IDE

set of monitors on the way soon :P

DVI is the new VGA like DDr2 is the new DDR, 64bit is the new 32bit ect, meant to be better but not really come on that much but will do in the near future.

i would ask (pm) elusiv1 if he is still selling his card maybe worth a shot ;)

System 1 :- Main PC: AMD XP 3200+ - OC Slightly 2.31Ghz, 1024 MB DDR PC2700, 1 x 40GB Hard Drive, 1 x 60GB Hard Drive, ATI 9600XT (256 MB)Graphics Card.

Hey Sypher what do you think about elusiv's card? Better than the 6500? I noticed elusiv's is only 128MB and the one you just recently told me to get was 256MB. Do these MB specs make a big difference.

Also i have been hearing about this 64 bit tech. alot lately. Someone told me that you wont be able to install the new windows coming out nesxt year if you dont have 64bit tech. Can someone explain to me in non technical terms what this 64bit is? Also how can i tell if i have it on my pc?

Well a little update here.

I decided to not only play emulator games like nes and sega but have been having alot of fun playing pc games including vice city for the pc, sims and a bunch of others.

Last week i bought that 77 dollar evga 256 MB 6600le graphics card one of the people in this thread recommended to me. But that was when i told him i was only gonna be watching movies and playing ninetendo games.
Since i am going to be playing these high end 3d games, should i be upgrading my card?
If so, any suggestions?

Hey sypher,

Question about that card. It says that it is only 128MB.
and since the one i have now has more(256MB), then mine is beter in that area? And if this is true, is there another similar card like the one u just suggested with 256MB

Oh yeah sypher to answer your question about your post

"that card is pretty good, its midrange so it will play anything at a decent level of quality, you only need to upgrade if your interested in playing games at their highest quality, but youd also need to get more system memory aswell as if iremeber right you only have 512 meg, really you need at least 1 gig for gaming"

I do have 1 gig of RAM

Can someone answer my presvious question please?

Also how about this card. i see that it got bad reviews. But it is 256MB, and above 500 for memory clock and core clock?
The one guy said something about the 64-bit cripples the card. is this true?

SLI is where u have a motherboard with 2 pci-e 16x (graphic card ports) and can support SLI config, i think u should go with th gs as well here is a link http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130271 and that rocks compare to the other one look at the core clock speed and memory clock speed.

System 1 :- Main PC: AMD XP 3200+ - OC Slightly 2.31Ghz, 1024 MB DDR PC2700, 1 x 40GB Hard Drive, 1 x 60GB Hard Drive, ATI 9600XT (256 MB)Graphics Card.

yeah thats the one i would like to get if i had the money.

What do you think about these two

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130261

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130263

is the xt(the second one) version better. and do you think that would be a good decision if i went with either of these?

both of these would be good but the http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814130263 one looks best to me even tho it isnt the XT model, look again at the memory clock and the core clock is the same just there are 12 pipelines on the normal and only 8 on the xt version.

System 1 :- Main PC: AMD XP 3200+ - OC Slightly 2.31Ghz, 1024 MB DDR PC2700, 1 x 40GB Hard Drive, 1 x 60GB Hard Drive, ATI 9600XT (256 MB)Graphics Card.

yeah i did notice that. so thats the only difference?

i saw in the reveiws that ppl were sayin that the xt version is silent and in the reviews for the regular version , they said it was real loud. could that be the difference between thenm two? what does xt mean?
