DVD wont play because of area limitations

I have recently had several successful burning sessions, but recently 2 DVD I burnt wont play on my Standalone, it says 'cannot play disc because of area limitations'. How do I correct this problem? Is there any conversion software that will allow it to play??thanks

2 things:
Is this a PAL format and your in an NTSC region or vice versa?
Or is the disc from a different region?
Several will make the disc region free like decrypter, shrink, dvd fab decrypter.
If you need to convert from PAL to NTSC you can use vobblanker - see this link for help: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/167922

I dont think it has anything to do with the disk. I am just burning a movie that I downloaded. Could it be that the downloaded movie is from a different region? Can that even affect it? I am in the NTSC region, but how I check what region the downloaded file is from?

Not a problem! It definitely now sounds like you downloaded a PAL format one. Vobblanker will show what format it's in. Download vobblanker and follow the steps in the link above. Very easy and doesn't take that long.
