Apparently this is a common thing, but I don't know why. I just backed it (Doom) up today with zero problems. I did the entire disc, too, not just the main title.

I used (what a surprise lol) Shrink to compress/rip and then Decryptor to burn. Obviously, AnyDVD was running. I must sound like a broken record because I've been saying this in almost every troubled movie thread lol. Yes, the AnyDVD I have running is the latest.

@maggie,
Here's THE Solution for "Doom", AnyDVD + CloneDVD 2 = Success! In fact, very easy with these 2. Copy Title only, take out all the languages you don't need, take the directors comments out, I backed it up with perfect results first time with these 2. Entire time to do it, about 30 minutes from Start to Completed Back-Up. Believe it. Download these 2 & use for FREE for 21 days. Unlimited usage for that period. Buy these soon & get the Promo Discount price!
P.S. Use GOOD Media!

Use The Best Media for The Best Burns! TYs, Verbs,(Made in Taiwan) Sony MIJs (YUDEN000 T02), Sony Made in Taiwan DVD+R 16x, Maxell MIJ, RITEK G05.

It goes without saying that all the unnecessary crap you don't want should be omitted. I like to backup the entire disc but without the foreign languages and if the commentators suck, I remove those as well.

Anyway, like I said, i just did this earlier. No problems with AnyDVD, Shrink, and Decryptor.

bunnyrip is correct!!! Like I have said before, the freeware of the past will soon be in the past. Sony, Dreamworks, 20th Century Fox, etc. wiil overcome the algorithms of the freeware. Our only recourse to back up our DVD's will be AnyDVD & CloneDVD. Let's face it folks, time to pay out some $$$$$$.

BAAH, I backed up my copy of DOOM with DVD Decrypter Version 3.5.1.0 and burned it with Nero 6 to a DVD+DL No problemo! You may have a bad disk. If you already own the disk I would suggest renting a copy and backing up that one and keep your copy for legal reasons. Back up the backup and keep the old backup with your original just in case your 2nd backup gets wasted by little brats and then you can always make another backup without renting again. (This may violate copyright laws where you live so check to make sure you can do this before you take my advice.) The only other alternative is to take back your original and get it exchanged for another and try again (do this first).

This is the second thread that you've mentioned a violation of this forum, not to mention a violation of federal law.

Same here, the sheep and AnyDVD spelled Doom for the copy protection of Doom. Thanks Slysoft/E-Bytes.

I Used DVDDecrypter and Shrink to do the movie. I am in region 1 and the disk I have has no special encryption on it that DVDD can not handle. If you are having a problem then it might be a bad press as that has been reported on other forums as it has on this one.

Hint: Set DVD Decrypter at 4300 instead of 4495 so u do not burn so close to the edge. Doom is not difficult to burn.

DOOM issues?

Try my VobBlanker combo DVDFAB Decrypter method on my sig.

Here is a new guide that I've made, just follow this guide carefully and you'll be free of misery.

Here http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/271 -- it's called "To backup any dvds with DVD Decrypter, PSL plugins + FixVTS, VobBlanker and Nero Recode 2 by Alkohol". This is possibly one of the best method ever to successfully rip and backup any dvds/movies, regardless if it's RipGuard or ARccOS.

Best of lucks to all, enjoy the guide and happy burning!!

apparently if you put doom in your xbox you can play doom 3, or so it says on the back cover. haven't tried it yet. just wondering if this has any effect on the backup process. also, will the backup be able to play the game as well? sorry, but don't know much about backing up video games or how this dvd works exactly.

@dz50,
All I can say on this one is : Xbox only READS the disc.It won't affect the back up. Theoretically speaking, if you can play the game off the original, I would say yes, you can with a good back up on good media too.

I backed up the movie three different ways and all three gave me the internal graph error in Nero showtime and media player would not play it. Come to find out that all three will play in a DVD player but not on the computer. Whats up with that.

@wdogg,
I don't know what's up with that. I backed up Doom, Main movie only with CloneDVD 2 & Latest AnyDVD. It plays Perfect with Nero Showtime, it also plays Perfect with Media Player 10. Of course, it plays Perfect on the Standalone too. I used Sony DVD+R 8x media & burned @ 8x.
