I finally got brand new PS2.
But then I suddenly figured out that mine is
SCPH-75001! instead of 70001 and I have to void warranty
to install flip tops!

I ordered magic keys 2 from ebay, and waiting for delivery
But it sound like many people are having trouble with part 3.
So what I am thinking is that I will use flip top if couldn't get Magic Keys job done.

But I am little bit afraid to void my warranty.
Does "voiding the warranty" means Sony will not repair my PS2 whatsoever? or is that just mean that they will not repair mine for free?
and did anyone had to use warranty for slimline PS2 yet?

magic keys are ok & not too difficult to install, the only problem that i know of people having is not being able to close the lid, but this is beacuse they didnt install them properly.
you WILL void your warranty as soon as you open up your ps2, $ony will not repair it free, i dont know if they will repair it for a charge? they will probably not like the fact that you have opened your ps2 & used a mod on it. in australia they took someone to court for installing a modchip (fortunatley they lost there case & it is now legal to chip your ps2 in australia) so maybe if you send it back after modding it they may take you to court??? who knows???
your ps2 is a V14. the V12 (slim) had laser problems so i guess they had plenty of warranty repairs to do. you never know if you may need to use your warranty, & personally once modded i wouldn't send it back to $ony.
