Good day to everyone. This forum is really great, I've found some nice info searchin on google in the past, but now I have to make a direct question.

The point : Dragon Quest 8. I bought it, and I played it for some time with the original disc. After that I started to notice some really light scratechs on it, nothing that compromises the data but as a game collector it gives me nerves. I decided to try and backup it, with nero first, with alcohol then, but always the same result : The load times are two or three times longer, the music is skippy, and it takes ages to get inside or outside a combat or a building.

I'd like to ask if there's a method to back it up without having those issues or if I'm doomed to play with the original copy.

If it can be an useful information, I'm playing with swap magic 3.6 since I've got a PAL playstation (and anyway I'd need it to play backups).

I almost forgot.. I have to admit I am using cheap media.. but I am having trouble finding something good in my zone.. the best media I can buy around here is Verbatim.. do you think they're good enough to solve this problem (or anyway if they're good enough for other backup copies I have in mind, like tales of legendia that I'm about to buy in a couple of days)

Verbatims are really good, I used those for the longest time when Office Depot had em, the DataLifePlus ones that is.

I have four copies of DQVIII. Three are burned to 8x Taiyo Yuden's (TYG02). The other I rebuilt and burned to Ritek G05. They all play perfectly. Good media should resolve the issue. Get some Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim.

No luck here in italy on gettin some high quality media.. I'll try buying online. I got some Verbatim but they are MCC 01RG20 ...

Really, doesn't anyone know any site where I can buy Taiyo Yuden in Europe? supermediastore.come and rima.com only sell to the states and canada..
