I think i posted in wrong area..think i should have put it in playback probs. im sorry, and i appologise for my typos, think all the sleepless nights trying to work this bugger out has caught up with me. ahh Is it better to just bite the bullet and pay for full version of winavi?? is it as good as they say, like in easyness.. and no problem wise, cause i dont think im going to get the hang of it this way..
thanks for your help in advance..
Macey.

would you like to start from scratch.

Ist off can you download avicodec and run your file through it and then post the results for us to see.
(AVIcodec is a nice little tool for identifying what codecs you need in order to play your multimedia files. Program supports MPEG-1/2, AVI, Ogg, ASF, WMV, etc formats)

check the link below for a download site to get it from.

http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/codecs_and_filters/avicod...

Next while your downloading can you also download vso DivX to dvd from this link supplied. Its a preference taste, dont like avi2dvd or winavi for encoding AVI to mpeg2.

http://www.filepedia.com/video_software/dvd-r_tools/vso_divxtodvd...

Also while your replying with the other data, can you also tell us the your pc stats are...........

dvd2dvd created a file called avi2dvd_temp within this folder it has

(1) Another folder which contains both video_ts and audio_ts subfolders. audio_ts contains nothing, video ts contains VTS_01_1, VTS_01_2, and VTS_01_3 all state "DVD Movie" and are between 776,128KB -
1048,554KB.

(2)AudioStream 1 mp3 2ch, AC3 Audio 135,549KB folder.
(3)DVD_Image, ISO_image 2,874,068KB
(4)Pulldown_Video, winamp media file 4,229,030KB
with text documents, dvdauthor XML doco, and avisynth text scripts also.

when i stated i tried to burn above I loaded (1) into decrypter to burn.

within avicodec (1) states:

C:\Program Files\BitLord\Downloads\Avi2dvd_temp\DVD\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_1.VOB

File : 1023 MB (1.13 GB), duration: 0:19:49, type: MPG, 2 audio stream(s), quality: 83 %
Video : 1.10 GB, 8000 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 720*480 (4:3), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD), Supported
Audio : 31 MB, 224 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x2000 = AC3 DVM [0x80], Supported
Audio : 0.00 B, 0 Kbps, 22050 Hz, 2 channels, 0x50 = Mpeg-1 audio Layer 2 (MP2) [0xc0], Supported

C:\Program Files\BitLord\Downloads\Avi2dvd_temp\DVD\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_2.VOB

File : 1023 MB (0.00 B), duration: 0:00:00, type: MPG, 0 audio stream(s), quality: 0 %
Video : 1023 MB, 0 Kbps, 0.0 fps, 0*0 (), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD), Supported

C:\Program Files\BitLord\Downloads\Avi2dvd_temp\DVD\VIDEO_TS\VTS_01_3.VOB

File : 757 MB (0.00 B), duration: 0:00:00, type: MPG, 1 audio stream(s), quality: 83 %
Video : 0.00 B, 8000 Kbps, 29.970 fps, 720*480 (4:3), MPG2 = MPEG 2 (SVCD/DVD), Supported
Audio : 0.00 B, 224 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x2000 = AC3 DVM [0x80], Supported

with trying to open (3)(the dvd image) with avicodec it states:
Opening error Cannot play back the file. The format is not supported. for C:\ProgramFiles\Bitlord\Downloads\Avi2dvd_temp\DVD_Image.iso

have a Intel(R) Celeron(R) running Windows XP Pro with Service Pack 2
any other stats reguired?

have you still got the original file as an avi?

i see 2 audio files listed, one with out any MB,??????? strange
but not uncommon.

How much ram have you got.

Try this: delete all the vob and iso but we will attempt this from scrastch as long as you hjave the original download.........

Now with the original file can you load that into divx to dvd and press convert. For starters leave the serttings on automatic

Hi Andmerr
Yes i still had the origional, so i put that thru through DivX to dvd converter. it created the audio and video ts folders as i normally do with a origional disk through shrink. i put them through shrink and it worked perfectly, no worries at all, even the sound is great! So i removed all the trialware i dloaded and got rid of all there "dud" copys they made. Thank you for suggesting DivX, it is great. i dont know why avidvd and winavi made some many copys of "nothings" when to find a prog that just did as i needed. So Thank You HEAPS! Your a life saver mate!
Cheers
Aussie Macey.

andmerr, have 12 episodes. converted 3 to dvd format seperatly. example: episode1 VTS_01_1 states 864,738 MB as size
Am i able to put more than 1 episode per DVD-R disk?
or do i just use a disk per episode. I use shrink to burn.
If able to combine 2 per disk, could you point me in the right direction. its no worries if your busy.
Macey.

you can put as many episodes as you have disc space.
How did you want this project, with or with out menus.

if i had 1 episode per disk i dont want menus, just the episode. But if i can fit 2 or more episodes per disk id rather a menu, just to toggle between the different episodes rather than having to ffwd through the 1st movie to get to the second and so on.

I have also tried to get piccys of the net to trial on a menu background but all the pics save as very small pics and when i try to largen them they go blurry or are allready a bit of a blur, i saved from google search image and also from there web site. ill have a look around the forums, do you no of a site or recomend which has good guality pics to search through.

Ta.
