Hi guys
im using a remote access software call go to my pc and would like to compress my dvds so that its easier to download them to my remote pc.I rip my dvds with shrink or 1click dvd copy.Does anyone know if i compress these 4.3 gb files if i would loose anymore quality.I want to use winwar to compress the files.Would really appreciate any help.Thanks

yea you can compress the DVD via WinRAR w/o lossing any quality since you arent actually compressing the DVD data itself (movie). all you would be compressing is the data not the movie. WinRAR has settings to allow you to choose how many rars you wish to make , how large each rar should be, how much Corruption Repair to include etc.

The 'standard' size for DVDR rars is 50 Megs (actually like 40something) but since WinRAR doesnt ask in MBs, you gotta use Bytes, which I believe is 500000. Try that and see what you get. dont forget to create a SFV to check for corruption. Use Quickpar to create your SFV, it'll do the job. there are other SFV generators out there, just cant remember their names
