Ok guys...not a newb at this or anything...i've been backin up for about 6 months. Use the "easy" way: DVD DECRYPT, DVD2ONE, NERO 5.5.10.15, Sony DRU 500-A with latest firmware. Well, i bought some Ritek 03 from a guy on ebay. Suppose to burn at 2X. I know my drive supports em....when i start nero it says "burn process started at 2X" HOWEVER, it does not burn at 2x.....it burns at 1x. I know this cause it takes 1 HOUR. Did the guy screw me on disks? If so...why does nero say the disk supports 2x?

I have a Pioneer DVR104 and these discs work at X2 on my drive but only cos I have the 1.31 firmware.

I've not tried this disc yet but when I run out of Datawrite Classic X2 I'll be tempted at having a go cos they're on a good dye & reasonably priced.

Herbsman, Oh yeah... the riteks kick ass, well at least the 03's my burns them at 2x as well, but only cause i have firmware 1.0g Anyway, i'm thinking this guy screwed me and only gave me like Ritek (01's) or something. Just can't figure out why Nero says they are 2x. Oh well.

i have a program that identifies CDR make and manufacteur maybe there is one out there for dvd media
