I have a backup of a dvd which plays fine in my dvd player, but as soon as i put it in my computer it says the disc is empty, so i cant make another backup, or play it on my computer . All my other backups work fine in my computer. I didnt back this one up myself so im not sure how it was done. Any ideas why it would do this?

Well, not knowing anything about your burner or the media the dvd is on. One reason could be that you have a DVD-R burner and the backup you are trying to look at is on a DVD+R or vice versa.

You can also make sure your drives firmeare is up to date. A little more info would be helpful too! Is it a backup of a movie from the original disc? Homemade video? And as beltline said burner and media info can help us also.

Right ok sorry. Here goes. The backup is a Mr.DVD DVD-R. The film is lee evans xl tour. My writer is a NEC 6650A +/- latest firmware so its not a problem with that. I think it could be a backup made from a backup, would that cause it to show up empty on the computer? Right i tried it about 5 times yesterday and it wouldnt work at all. Ive just put it in again now and the files are showing up and DVD Decrypter can see the files now! Not such an issue now its working but im confused! Is it just bad media?

sounds like bad media to me! hurry.... if it's being recognized now, use DVDDecrypter to copy to hard drive and then reburn slowly to good media!
