okay i've been burning ps2 for like a month now and everything all good and super. i've back up a lot of my games but now there a problem :(.
I got a lot of questions soo plz bear with me.
everything on my comp is most likely updated.
1. The DvD Decrypter everyone using is it coded by lightning uk! ?
2. DVD shrink and DVD decrypter has been giving me I/O error which is very odd. cause i'm using the same burner for the past months and now it's acting weird.
3. Well the burner i have is a NU-tech dvd+-RW and it was in another computer i was using which had 2.4 ghz Pentium4 , 512 mb ram, and 160gb harddrive. well that comp wasn't mine and soo i put my burner back into my computer which is a pentium 3 700mhz 256 mb ram can that be the problem? I have up to date firmware. on my computer i have: dvd decryptor, dvd shrink, alcohol 120, and nero7 just like on the previous computer i had this burner in.
4. i tried putting everykind of dvd i had and i still get the error for both program dvd decrypter and dvd shrink. ps2 games, dvd movies, and burnt ps2 games.
5. here is the error :
I/O Error!

I/O errors generally mean there is something wrong with your DVD writer but i ain't sure.
this is what i did when i got the I/O error
i disconnected all other drivers apart from the hard disk, reconnected it as master without any slave and it stopped giving me those errors.
but my friend wasn't so fortunate, he had to get his dvd-writer replaced.
also, try using that drive in another computer to check whether it gives the same error.
btw, make sure ur title are more specific like "I/O errors after installing writer in new comp"
take care and let us know what happens

What DVD Shrink!?
No no no no no. You use DVD Decrypter.
Insert your PS2 game into the drive. Click MODE>ISO>READ.
Choose a place to save the game or stick with the default.
Click the button below....
Now, depending on the size - 4gb+ You may need to rebuild. If this is the case go here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/259416
If not, click MODE>ISO>WRITE
Insert a high quality brand DVD and burn at half the maximum speed (eg. I use 8x Verbatim discs and I burn @ 4x)
Now click the little folder button, and load the MDS file. If this is not present (which it should be) load the ISO instead.
Now set the speed and click the image below.

An I/O error when ripping games to your HD is usually a sign the game is scratched or dirty. Is that a CD-ROM or DVD-ROM based game? Do as Hursty says first. If all that is in order, try ripping the game with Alcohol 120%:
88. Q. How do I burn PS2 DVD games with Alcohol 120%?
A. Ripping the game to your Hard Drive:
1. Insert your disc.
2. Open Alcohol 120%.
3. Click Image Making Wizard.
4. Check Ignore read errors, select your recorder, leave the never seperate box alone.
5. Click Next. Select a destination for the game. Click Start.
Once the process is complete, you'll get an mds and an mdf file. Click finish, if necessary.
Burning the game to DVD:
1. Insert your blank disc.
2. Right click the mdf file.
3. Select Image Burning Wizard.
4. Select your recorder, set the write speed to 4x.
5. Click next.

Alcohol will do that, especially if the disc is badly scratched. Try letting it run for awhile. I've let it run 6-8 hours sometimes before it finishes.

@anhnam
<> for PS2 games <>
If you're in the ripping process, then it means that the original is dirty, badly scratched up. Try to clean it with some dish washer soap/detergent or car wash soap, then with DVD Decrypter open, under Tools, settings, I/O, check on "ignore read errors", click OK. Now to rip again.
If you're in the burning process, then it means that the media you're using is bad, dirty or defected. The solution, try another high quality media to see if you'll get a success.
<> for dvd movies <>
If you're in the ripping process, then it could be that the original is dirty, badly scratched up, or a new encrypted protection. Try to replace or exchange it for a different disc and try to rip again. If it failed too, then follow my 2 guides in bold under my sig on how to overcome/kill ARccOS and RipGuard protections. Try either my "DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker method" or "ARccOS & RipGuard issues (a new guide by Alkohol)" - both of them should solve your issue.
If you're in the burning process, then it's the media, possibly bad dye or defected disc. Try another disc or another brand of high quality media.

but this is what i have.
Nero7 Premium
Dvd Decryptor
Dvd Shrink
Alcohol 120%

This is in the Ripping process and the DVD aren't scratch, they're practically new.
I tried installing the driver myself and also tried letting it doing it automatically. the driver isn't on the same ide with the harddrive. there no conflict with anything. nothing else is running while i have dvd decryptor or any other program running.
