reencode d2v file (to KSVCD) result file too large

I tried to re encode d2v file (856kb) to KSVCD using template from weethet http://www.weethet.nl/english/video_kvcd_intro.php with no audio (as I've got AC3 file). D2V file was ripped from DVD2AVI forced film was used. The result file is 206822kb. Is it supposed to be that big? I thought it should be much smaller than that. Please help

You must now that the KVCD template use the CQ (Constant Quality) mode. The effect of the CQ variable is to use a VBR in such a way the quality remains constant, but there's no link between 'quality' and 'size'.
The only way to make a KVCD is to use as 'sample' a sub-movie whih can approximate the full one (if you don't want to use hours to do simple tests).

By default, CQ=60. For a certain movie, making a movie with CQ=60 can give ANY size (well, since max bitrate = 1800 you can get the maximum size given by a CBR 1800 kbps [video] + 224 kbps [audio] movie = 20024 kbps).
You can predict the size with some applications, but there's no direct link, for any movie , between duration and size.

Ant you can use a template with Kwags' link which tells you 'approx 120' per CD-R' and go. But you will never obtain 800 MB at the 1st try.
The only way to go near that value is to use different values of CQ and make tests.

Very time consuming.
