Hey, when i rip from a dvd and try and put it on my phone or psp, it doesn't work!

The file type becomes mp4 when its been ripped, which is strange because i though that was video...

Can i have a link to software (free, preferably), or instruction on how to convert please?

No no im worrying again now! Musicmatch jkebox isnt a free program!
Is there anyfree audio compression programs, that i can convert cd to mp3?

I'm glad you asked. Use a program called Exact Audio Copy. It is the best MP3 ripper around. And when used with the Lame encoder you can create the highest sounding MP3's around. Do everything in this link = http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/mydeneaclame.cfm

But dude, is there no way i can straight convert a file, if i don't have a cd with he song on, say if i downloaded it legally and paid for it, or if my friend lent me a cd or something and i no longer have the disc...you get the picture,

then give dbpoweramp a try. you can convert say a wma into an mp3.
