Does anybody have any experience with Klite pro or others which require an enrollment fee? Their claims regarding "legal, downloads, no spyware" etc. seem to be inconsistent with the widespread p2p problems peculiar to the free p2p programs. Klite is a KaaZaa program, but there are others on a website calledhttp://www.filesharingreviews.com/ Are they what they allege to be?

thanks rav009---I'm of the same opinion. I'm a bit long in the tooth, but there are a couple of songs I heard my grandkids play which I would like for myself---any freeware out there that's safe to use? I was using the Donkey and Overnet some time ago but stopped because I picked up a virus from a download. I'm running PC Tools Spyware Doctor now but am still a bit gunshy about using p2p
software.

well i spose you should get limwire as i have downloaded ######## of things and my friends have downloaded ######## things but if you know what your downloading file sizes ect then you will never have to worry about viruses and spyware.

using bitcommet with www.isohunt.com is good too.

so you choose ;)

One of my grandsons uses limewire and has been trying to get me to use it. The other you refer to is new to me--I'll take a look-see.

Apparently, the bottom line is to download selections which have the greatest numbers of sources.

Thanks again.

Well if you download files with more sources then its much less likley of it being false,if your downloading music files you'll be fine, when you start downloading "other" things then you'll get dodgey files and spyware viruses the lot if you dont know what your downloading(file sizes ect).

but you may aswell use it if you want to use any, its one of the cleanest p2ps out there so no need to worry.

Good point about types of files. I am going to take a look at WinMx tho. Thanks for your advice.

Just finished "googling" WinMx and it appears to have been disabled.
Lots of websites indicate an older version download. One or two websites mention a patch to vladd. I'm kinda confused.

Is WinMx active or disabled and what should I download if active?
